Who We Are

Islam A. Ali is the Chief Scientific Officer responsible for the R&D activities creating a new era of AI/computer vision systems.

Prior to joining Fab-Minds, Islam held multiple senior technical positions at Si-Ware Systems, Egypt in both the Digital ASIC Engineering Group and the Systems Engineering Group where he worked on and led the development of a wide spectrum of highly innovative solutions targeting both industrial and commercial applications including inertial/non-inertial sensing, inertial stabilization platforms, and smart spectroscopy scanners.

Islam received his BSc and MSc degrees (with Honours) from Cairo University in Computer Engineering in 2013 and 2018 respectively. He is currently pursuing his PhD from the University of Alberta, Canada where he is affiliated with the Robotics/Vision Lab. He authored/co-authored 12 publications in international top-tier venues and is a member of the NCRN (NSERC Canadian Robotics Network) in Canada.
